Panama
Panama can offer great value for international health travelers. The hospitals and physicians are world class, many of which have U.S. affiliations, i.e. Punta Pacifica Hospital with Johns Hopkins. Further, Panama is only 2-3 hours from the US.
As a primarily Catholic country, Panama will work for some Intended Parents, but not all. You will have a good experience using your own or donor eggs. You will also have a good experience if you are relying on a gestational surrogate who will give birth in your own country.
Similar to some US states, a gestational surrogacy birth in Panama will be administered like an adoption. The Intended Parents will have to be married and not be of the same sex. You will have to engage a Panamanian attorney to obtain the birth certificate. Finally, your surrogate will have to voluntarily terminate her maternity.
